Has anyone run a pub quiz to raise funds?
Was thinking about the kennel fund and as 2 of my students work in pubs (don't all actors when they are resting?!) was wondering if I could make use of them!
Trouble is - I don't really know how they work - and would there be any chance of raising funds if I did hold one?
Thanks

There are several sites where you can find pub quiz questions. Normally people are in teams of up to 4-6 per team. You need a Quiz leader. You could have 3 sections/categories (Music, history and misc for instance) which are marked after each section is completed, a way of doing this is for everyone to pass their answers to the next table for marking before having them passed back for the next section to be completed.
For additional interest you could add a tasting competition, at one I sent to we had to sample teeny pieces of chocolate and then say what they were, ie. mars bar, twix etc. I think they did it with spices once as well, not quite so tasty!
You can charge £1 per person to compete but you also do need prizes in order to get people to play which could be a bottle of wine, champagne, a round of drinks for the winning team, that sort of thing which doesn't cost much but people would like.
I'm not sure how much this would actually raise though.
