When we first brought Katy home we noticed some spots on her chest and I asked about parasites...thanks all for your advice, she had advocate, frontline and wormers and we're happy there is no issue with parasites As the spots persisted we tried antihistamine and this does definitely bring the spots down, they come back up when she doesn't have it so we definitely think she is having an allergic reaction to something. The spots appear on her chest/belly and on her rear end. They are like acne spots type size, red, but not pussy. We really want to work out what she is allergic to......but in the meantime, is it safe to keep her on antihistamine, one a day? She nibbles at her rear end if we don't give her antihistamine In terms of working out what she is allergic to......I'm guessing bedding (washing detergents?) or grass? Is there any possibility it is food? Or something I haven't thought of? Would really appreciate any thoughts, experiences, ideas and advice Thanks, Sam

are you sure it's not just the toxins from her system, when we first got Vena, who had spent her life in kennels she was very spotty and yellow heady, but a few months of a good diet and eventually a bath with good quality of shampoo, she has never had them since

Food allergies usually present themselves with itchy feet. Mayo had a lot of investigations due to a general itchiness and was on antihistamines for months, so I'm sure Katy will be fine We never did find out the cause, but suspect his was due to leaf mould. It came back the next year too, but again Piriton controlled it. Moira x

Ellie gets an itchy belly every autumn that drives her spare . We think she has an allergy to something that sheds its pollen at that time of year, but Piriton normally works a treat for her too It could it be something as simple as a grass or detergent allergy, or could it be your central heating? Steve gets itchy legs when the air is dry indoors due to the heating being on, and needs steroid cream to control it. We're a pretty itchy bunch when I think about it, here, aren't we? ;D ;D Jo x
