.. and now has a bloody mouth. Looking in his mouth I can't see any particular areas of damage and there are no spines sticking in him. He had a poo after the incident and has now gone to sleep.
Do I need to watch out for anything particular? Will call vet in the morning if he seems uncomfortable.

Arthur (blind boy) picks them up regularly - must smell them! He pick them up by the spines but they don't seem to stick in his mouth. Doesn't bother him and the fleas are inherently on the hedgehog, according to our vet! Never any problems, other than we have to go out and have inspections each evening before the last pee and sometimes we miss them then - he pulls them from under a bush and throws them up in the air!

His orangeness seems fine this morning. I gave him Weetabix for breakfast, which went down with no problems, and he can have chicken soup for lunch (he usually does, because he won't eat his biscuits without it!).
He did a big yawn on the sofa for me just now, and his mouth doesn't look any different from normal. I shall keep an eye on him.
Hope the hedgehog was ok - mum had a look at it and couldn't see any damage, and it took itself off quite quickly. Fanta has a very soft mouth for a greyhound (fortunately, as he's picked up two spaniels in the past!) so hopefully he didn't hurt the hedgehog.
It's about time for another dose of Frontline anyway, so we shall have one just in case.
