Hallo all out there. We have just "adopted" Daisy and need some advice on feeding . At the kennels she was fed at about 12:00 to 1:00. We need to change this time to fit in with our own lifestyle. Any advice on how easy it is to change the feeding time, we need to give her main feed a few hours later. thanx

To be honest any new dogs that come into my house just fit into our feeding routine without any issues. I feed once in the morning and once in the evening, with some snacks in the day.

All my adoptees and fosters are just fed at the same time as our own from the start. 6.30am and 5pm regardless and we have not had any problems with that. It may upset their toiletting habits a bit though so you need to make sure they have plenty of trips out till their systems get used to your routine.

6am, and again at 6pm and we never get woken in the night for wee or poo either, our dogs have just adapted to this. Sue x

Breakfast's between 8 and 10 here, and tea's the same only 12 hours later Is Daisy a hound? If so it's really important that she's fed two smaller meals per day, far apart - not one huge meal - to help avoid the possibility of bloat (gastric torsion) Congratulations on your new addition Jo x
