Angus is the chief groomer here, Rio and Bertie have never had such clean ears and teeth (yes, teeth, Angus gives Bertie's a good clean every day) since Angus came to live here.

I've heard of a few explanations. I have heard its a sign of affection.... but then have also heard its a sign of dominance by a top dog on a subservient one... and Skye does this with Herbie licking his ears and he doesnt dare budge for fear she will tell him off. ;D But I have also heard its a sign of a subservient dog showing respect to a more dominant dog...... so er take your pick from all them eh! ;D ;D At the very least it shows they have bonded.

Thanks guys. I'd never heard of it before. Wilma may be half Jaffa's size but she's definitely the top dog as she's a bossy cow sometimes ;D Jaffa is so patient, he's happy for her to be first altough he has started budging in for fuss time in the morning when I come downstairs
