Hi all
I wondered if anyone can tell me how to trace my dog's history through his ear tattoos? He has green tattoos in both ears - I think he's Irish. On Greyhound data, when i type in the tattoo letters, nothing comes up!
Thanks

Hi, you need to send Greyhound Studbook an email. My dog was the same, he isn't on Greyhound Data as he never actually raced but 2 of his litter mates are so I managed to trace his history that way. Dan

My Gizzi wasn't on Greyhound data either but like danhodson above she had a litter mate who raced so I found out about her that way. The Greyhound Studbook were very helpful as were RGT head office.
Also, she has tattoos in both ears, which misled me into thinking she was Irish. Apparently they messed up the first ear and had to do it again in the other ear, and she is in fact English.

If he is tatoo'd in both ears that would indicate he is an Irish dog and I think you would have to contact the Irish Coursing Club. The English Stud Book are helpful though in my experience and may point you in the direction of the ICC if they can't help. www.irishcoursingclub.ie/

Thank you so much everyone for your help. Have managed to trace his race history now through his race name.
