Calling folks in and near the North East! I haven't done it before but I'm happy to organise and attend a street collection in any one of our local towns - provided someone else can bring hounds! ;D (I think Solo would explode in town centre surroundings as he gets his knickers in a right twist when the park is slightly busy! ) So - Middlesbrough? Darlington? I live in Stockton but our high street is practically dead so I fear there wouldn't be enough foot traffic to make it worth while. I know Newcastle is our biggest and probably busiest city but it's an hour from me and I'd like to try somewhere more local first unless others think it would be best to head straight for the biggun'. Would be great if you could let me know who is interested, where you would prefer to go, and any restrictions on dates. Sarah x ETA: Sorry, just realised this should have gone in the fundraising arrangements section (which I just discovered!).

We're in Darlo but it's dead in town as so much has closed. Durham would be good on the Market square or Newcastle on that road near M&S (Grainger St??) Boro's a possible as well plus P@H at Teesside Park.
Whitby was mentioned last year, did that happen?
Count Bob and me in for whatever you organise- I just don't have time to organise a street collection myself. I did ask Darlington Council, but they didn't understand the concept of a street collection etc so I gave up

So it looks like Natalie (sorry just guessing this is your name from your username!) and Mak have kindly volunteered for the north of the region, in which case shall I take the south? If Solo has calmed down a bit by the time the dates come up he will definitely be involved too! I will look into Middlesbrough and Whitby, and maybe Yarm (small but lots of money! ) and have already made a post about Teesside Park P@H

I'd pop over with Jojo for a short while if it was local. But I can't stay long as with 4 horses I just don't have much time to spare and Jojo is a fidget anyway, she likes to keep busy.

Just to add, that a local dog charity use the town hall at Northallerton and get a good "foot fall"
So wonder if Market day there could be a good day for collecting
Oh and with enough warning I am a willing volunteer
