Anyone have any recipes for home made dog treats?
Have got one for some liver treats that involve boiling liver, then cutting it up and baking it. Have yet to try it but this afternoon may be a dog treat baking day!

Oooh. I've been busy making treats today! What a co-incidence! Sardine Cake Recipe (for dogs!)400g sardines in oil mashed (or in tomato, drain and add 1/3 cup oil) 1 1/2 cups flour (self raising or wholemeal) 2 eggs Oats to sprinkle on top Mix everything together until its like brownie mix, put it in a swiss roll tin sprinkle oats on top and bake at 180c for 20mins. It should be kind of cakey/brownie-ish textured, cool and cut in to squares. Cheese Dreams3 cups wholemeal flour 2tsp garlic powder(or easy garlic) 1/2 cup oil 1 cup grated tasty cheese 1 cup rolled oats 1 beaten egg 1 cup milk Mix everything together. Knead for few mins until soft. Roll out to half inch thick. Cut out with shaped cutter (bone shaped ones on ebay). Bake at 200C for 25 mins. Cool on rack. Pea and Carrot Treats1 cup cooked carrot and peas (blitzed in food processor) 2 1/2 cups wholemeal flour 1/2 cup milk powder 1 tsp garlic 6 tbsp oil 1 beaten egg 1/2 cup cold water 1 cup oats Mix together (quite sticky to start with) knead for few mins on floured surface. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out with cutter. Bake at 180C for 15 mins, turn over then bake again for another 25 mins. Cool on rack. Treats keep for 7 days in airtight container, cake for 5 days. (if they last that long!) Ours go mad when I have a baking session. They love my treats These are the recipes I use for Gap shows, so I know they sell well too. The cheese ones smell delicious, and taste like cheesy hobnobs! Loads more recipes on net, also LOADS of recipe books on Amazon if you get the bug, I use these recipes, as I always have ingredients in fridge and cupboard, so no special shopping!

Mine adore sardine cake although I use a big tin of pilchards, they have one for their birthdays and have soft cheese on the top, goes down a treat

YAY!!! Forgot to say, if there's too many for them to eat whilst fresh, you can freeze half the dough, takes about 24 hours to defrost in the fridge Enjoy your new hobby Emma x
