It's the difference between what is normal hair loss for a greyhound with bald thigh syndrome and what may be more indicative of a different condition and may therefore require a vet visit x there are medical conditions that will cause hair loss in dogs...what Lisa's point was is that 'normal' baldy thigh, bums and bellies in greyhounds is not always recognised by vets for what it is and results in lots of unnecessary tests whereas when hair loss starts or happens elsewhere the tests may be necessary....fingers crossed it's nothing at all to worry about xx

My lurcher Leah used to always moult on her thighs and backside, when we first had her it concerned us until we found out it was normal.
