I am getting my friends, family and work colleagues to donate on a day by day basis £1 for each day that I don't smoke from my quit date, so they can donate £1 for one day or for example £10 for 10 days in a block. Most of them have a vested interest in seeing me smoke free! This will be a huge motivation for me to stop too!!!!
I have joined up with the Boots programme so they will monitor my carbon monoxide levels.
I will also donate the equivalent of what I spend each week on tobacco to the fund.
Anyone care to join me? My start (or stop!) date will be Saturday 18th July.

Way to go Sam and bloody good luck! I would love to stop smoking but would end up in prison and be no use to anyone. I really admire you though for doing this I did give up for six months in the past and found the Alan Carr book fabulous and also downloaded a ticker. I found this website good www.quit.org.uk/If you speak to your GP you will find they have an elocated nurse etc to help and see you regularly. Thank you for doing this

If anyone has a copy of the Alan Carr book they can lend me I will make an extra donation ;D

I'm going to try this another way round and pay Gap for each cigarette I smoke instead - no way can I give up at the moment - life is way too stressful - but at least this might encourage me to cut down!

Wow good luck
I quit recently using Alan Carrs book and can safely say i will never smoke again and that comes from someone who has tried to stop for over 10yrs and tried every method going. Alan Carrs book should be available free on the NHS!
fingers crossed for you
