Cedric is a 14 years ish Lhasa Apso who has been in the wars. He was taken in from a pound and is now coming into our care. He is friendly but partially sighted and quite nervous of being touched or picked up suddenly. He also seems to have some soreness around his neck area, but this has been x-rayed and there is no spinal problem so it's thought he has injured/bruised himself somehow.
Cedric will be legally owned by Oldies Club upon handover to first transporter. We have full liabiltiy insurance in place but ask that volunteers contact their own motor insurers to advise they are transporting dogs on a voluntary basis for rescue. They are then covered for all incidents that may occur. There should be no charge for this. If there is just shout up and we can reimburse you.
Cedric is to travel in a safe and secure manner. Great care to be taken when placing in/out of vehicles and changing over to new volunteers.
Cedric needs to be moved on pretty quickly. Full route is from Bolton, BL5 to East Harling NR16 taking approx 5 hours. M60, M56, M6, A14, A11.
If you can help us with this could you please state which days you are available and where you can meet up either side of your journey.
We can reimburse petrol costs where needed.
Thanks Michelle Oldies Club x

I have no offers in for this at all.

Is this still outstanding Michelle? If so, and you could possibly persuade whoever it is has offered to do the stretch of the M6 from J15ish to J2 or 3 to come across to the M1 via the A50 (Stoke) instead I could perhaps help with this. To clarify, if you can get Cedric as far as Donington Park services J23a M1 I could do from there to Cambridge services on A14. That would leave about an hour's run for the last leg to East Harling if that's where he's headed. Map of Suggested RouteJust one thing, I can't do Thursday this week, but if you can sort it for any other day give me a shout, PM or email with a contact number. Jackie x

Michelle (Jacobean) has now posted on The Refuge that there may be a hiccup with this run, but doesn't say what, just that she will update as soon as possible. Jackie x

Sorry ladies we've had to divert Cedric to a different foster home instead. He's going to Gloucester. So will need to cancel this one and start afresh.
Thanks ever so much for your help.
This can be locked now thanks.
