Evening all...
My parents are putting our touring caravan on a site for the whole season this summer which obviously means that there will be a lot of camping going on for ellie and I.
I am a little concerned that it may be a little chilly for her overnight and have been contemplating getting her some PJs.
Just after some advice on what sort would suit, have seen various types, normal fleece coats, coat with short arms in for the front legs, or full on legs on all four legs.
Obviously i want her to be comfortable as well as warm but looking for some experience from the boards...
Thanks
Kellie

I've only used PJ's for Cassie my old girl when she was alive, and only at home during the wintertime. The ones I had for her were from Anna, but she isn't making them any longer I don't think. I have seen some rather super ones made by www.akcreations.co.uk/pjs_housecoats.htm that have legs in, but are open around the back end to allow for toiletting without having to remove them. They also do housecoats that are rather like the normal fleece coats so are without the legs. Jackie x

He has loads of other AK stuff, too, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The only drawback is that their manufacture and delivery can be quite slow (3 -4 weeks normally, in our experience), but if time is on your side then I wouldn't think twice . . . and a % goes to greyhound rescue, too. ;D ;D ;D Jo x

I bought Ruby some with the four legs and it was nigh on impossible to fold her legs enough to get them on her, so I bought the short leg ones from Anna and she loved them. My next pair I bought from Forest Fleece and they are great too. Sioux will make them with velcro down to back so that your dog can step into them so the four leg ones would deffinately be more comfortable to put on.

I'd like to echo Dominiques point. I got some for River from Anna when she was making them, but unfortunately his arthritis means he can no longer bend his legs enough to get them on so the lucky girls have them. I've been looking at the ones with velcro down the back for him instead. I'd say legs or not and length depends a bit on how supple your dogs legs are and how old they are. Also as River stiffened up he would pee on his belly and front legs so catch the belly bit of his coat, although as you've got a girl it wouldn't be a problem for you .

Mine all had k9knitters jumpers when we had the tent, or they wore their fleece coats but when we first went in the caravan (october time) I didnt realise how much warmer it would be and was woke up in the night by a load of panting hounds I had to remove their fleeces, even the oldies were too warm. We stay in the camper all year round, and ours only has our cooking stove for heat we find our dogs tend to get too hot if anything, but i think that has something to do with the fact that they all end up under the duvet with us ;D
