I got one of my dogs back from kennels & discovered after him being in the house he is full of fleas !! Horrible little blighters I have used Frontline on all 3 dogs but i am now concerned that the carpets may well be infested I have heard that 'Flea Bombs' work but has anybody tried these ?? I understand that dogs & humans have to be out of the house for a number of hours which won't be a problem. So i'm asking for any advice at all which will be appreciated Thanks XxX

I bought something from my vets after we had a few problems with the little blighters. It's called Indorex spray and is active on adult fleas, larvae and eggs and allegedly 'prevents environmental infestation for up to 12 months'
Haven't had any problems since ;D

We have always been lucky and never had a problem even when ive brought dogs in that look to be walking with cockroach sized fleas The only time we did was when next doors had a big fluffy poor un groomed terrier lad (I kidnapped him and it took me 8hrs to cut him with the kitchen scissors but thats another story ) He brought fleas in. I didnt mess about I got in touch with the fumigation people at our local council and had them come out to us asap.

If you are going to treat your house, you need to wash all the soft furnishings that you can first, hoover 2 or 3 times to get the eggs up to the top of any carpet pile and use an insecticide, make sure you get it into crevices such as down the sides of sofas and chairs.

Just a word of warning, I have asthma and sprays for the house kill me. If ever we've needed to use them I have to go out and Tony sprays the edges and under the furniture, any nooks and crannies especially near heat sources, and then opens the windows and puts a fan on. We use as little as possible and don't cover the whole carpet but we've never had a big infestation it's just been odd times when I've had a few bites on legs which may or may not be fleas. Nuvan Top is evil stuff, stinks awful. I got some skoosh, it doesn't smell , leaves a sort of invisible web that traps and kills fleas but it doesn't have the same long lasting chemical effect of others. Seen Indorex but not tried it. Has anyone been bitten? or seen fleas on you? Have you wormed them all too?

I have asthma too, but it wasn't triggered by the Indorex spray. I couldn't say whether i was lucky or whether it's a 'safe' one though.
