you might have seen my thread re Maddie playing up since spay on mon.
I desperately need advice now. Since wed night she just whines loudly as soon as we come to bed and all night. Before this she had been sleeping fine downstairs with River and Gracie, coming up to tell me when she needed a wee then settling down again. Trix sleeps upstairs either in the bathroom or bedroom. They all have the run of the house which is very small and the stairs are off the living room. If we ignore her whinging she will poo or wee on the landing even if she has just been out and done something.
She appears to want one of us downstairs with her, she doesn't want to be upstairs with us despite there being dog beds up here. She appears fine physically, eating, toileting normally and wound healing up amazingly well. The only different thing is that she is digging up the quilts in the baskets, could this mean a phantom pregnancy? There's no milk obviously being produced and she's not bothered about soft toys.
We have DAP plugged in, given her rescue remedy and rimadyl just in case she's in pain but doesn't seem to be.
Tony thinks we should keep taking her out for a wee when she starts, but that would mean literally up and down all night, which he did last night. I think we should ignore her totally but I am a bit worried about the neighbours hearing her as she just gets louder and louder.
Any advice gratefully appreciated. I think she is a very difficult dog compared to our others, not agressive but an alpha bitch and either very stubborn or very thick, yet she is also sweet, gentle has great recall, not agressive at all to any other dog and loves people and kids, just a great big marshmallow - as long as things are going her way.
Other than her spay things have been the same as usual, not been out more or had visitors to unsettle her. I am at a loss, but maybe too close to see what's going on. I really want to get this sorted for her sake, please help.
Have even tried keeping her awake all day!
