Barneys' poo is just a stream of liquid today (sorry!) and I'm wondering if I should hold off feeding him until his tummy settles, or let him carry on as normal? He seems perfectly fine in himself, and was very waggy tailed on his walk immediately before and after pebble dashing the hedge So I'm guessing he doesn't have tummy ache or anything.

Well personally I just carry on as normal with mine. Usually it's because 'somebody' picked up something revolting she shouldn't have and her poo quickly returns back to normal. If it persisted though for over 24 hours, I would be more concerned. As long as your boy seems well and is drinking normally, it is probably something and nothing.

Following my vets advice I always starve them for 24 hrs when they have the runs then feed a small amount at first, see how they go and and then another small amount if that doesn't have them heading for the door.

On my vet's advice I don't starve mine, but switch their food to something gentle and bland (white fish, chicken or scrambled egg with boiled rice or boiled potatoes) in smaller, more frequent amounts and I dose them with Pro-kolin. If it is still liquid, as opposed to showing signs of firming up after 24 hours, or if they vomit, then it's off to the vets.

On my vet's advice, I don't starve mine either If after 24 hours they are no better (they usually are), I give them chicken and rice for 24 - 48 hours thereafter, plus a little Kaogel ..... it's rare that their tummies haven't settled down by then. Thereafter I introduce their normal food slowly.

I gave him his tea and he seems fine, so fingers crossed it was just a short lived bug.

I keep a few tins of Hill's i/d just in case and feed small amounts until all is well again.

Slippery Elm Bark is a good thing to have in the cupboard, you can buy capsules from Holland and Barratt, sprinkle a capsule full on bland food, its excellent for settling and helping digestion.

Thanks I'll get some of that in stock!
All normal today though, thankfully!
