Bels settled so well in her cage in the kitchen and loves it in her little 'house' but as its getting colder (and we are a sucker for her cute face) we decided to move her cage upstairs into our bedroom last night she was an absolute darling and snuggled down happily with not a peep all night, but i was lying there thinking awww well shes soooo good i guess she could just come on the bed She does love her own little space and at 5 months is still very borderline if we let her out all night that she wont spend the night chewing our furniture/toes/ duvet etccc Shall i be strong and keep that cage door shut for a while longer she is so good i dont want undo any of the good work (and peacefull nights)

If she is happy in her crate, and it sounds as if she is, then I would leave her there. If you think she might be cold then perhaps you could get her a fleece or jumper to wear at night. Although, that said, all three of mine seem to be sleeping on my bed at the moment!

In the wild dogs all sleep together to keep warm, that's my excuse for letting two of mine sleep on the bed - one on my chest and one on my feet (Poppy refuses to come upstairs). You could live to regret it though - last night Nelly stuck her little pointy nose down the back of my T shirt - had to push her away after a bit - she sounded like a heavy breather!

Believe me, if she's happy in her crate leave her there! Here speaks the voice of experience who has made a rod for her own back, actually usually its a cold back with no duvet because some hairy monster seems to have nicked it.

I NEARLY gave in last night she was looking so cute and was staring at me, so i let her out for 10 mins, she ran riot and then went and got straight back in her cage, so i err shut her back in again
