This is urgent as this dog is in a PTS situation -
have been approached about a greyhound, a 3 year old boy. not castrated. suffers seperation anxiety.
I have tried to advise her as a dog trainer, but she seems adamant to part with this dog.
I have told her to check the protein in his diet and to castrate him. She seems unwilling to do these things.
Basically, she wants rid of the dog - whilst declaring undying love for him.
Apparantly, she is weeing up her partner's chair.
She won't get it in her head that the dog needs castrating! She says she's tried 'everything' but he wrecks the house when her (female) partner leaves him.
They have two other dogs. The dog warden has been called & has advised them to re-home him.
I cannot imagine anyone who would want to take on a boy with these problems, but with castration and a low-protein diet and perheps a little less spoiling, he will come right.
Does anyone have anywhere he can go? I would take him but we have so many dogs in rescue at the moment, I am having to vaccinate them and put them in my boarding kennels. It's gone past bursting point here.
I spoke to the dog warden here this morning who says if I won't take him, she will advise them to put the dog to sleep. I think that's a bit fierce for seperation anxiety myself but I am powerless to do anything right now.
The owner of the dog can be reached via our dog warden on 01799 510594 or her mobile which is 07976 071776. Her name is Sue Knight. If you can arrange any help for this boy, Sue will make arrangements.
Many thanks.
