Butch has always had his problems with other dogs as a rule but when we got Faith he seemed to settle well with her which is just great as we never thought he would allow another dog into the house but latley he seems to be getting too protective over faith where people are concerned when we are outside, we were getting faith out the car butch was stood waiting for her and a bloke off the street walked passed and he started barking like mad he was told no in a firm voice and the bloke did not seem to be bothered by this ,Butch was diagnosed with cattarach this year and he does get a bit freaky when things aproach from the side as he cant see them until the last minitue but im not sure weather this is the problem or weather hes protecting Faith as he used to be over protective over my husband before we got faith...Any hints or tips would be appriciated thanks...His last check up was fine re the catteracts too as in they are no worse.

Can't comment on the protective behaviour part, but I do know my bridge girl Fern had catteracts and she would become defensively aggreesive if approached suddenly by either strange dogs or people. She always calmed down very quickly when she realised there was nothing to worry about. It was just a reaction to being caught unawares. As a precaution I always muzzled her when out, I didn't want to take the risk of a child running up to her in the park and her taking a snap at them.
