Since last night Tolly has been coughing/wretching after every time he as a mad scamper in the house. Never brought anything up, but as if trying to get rid of something. He has just tossed his bed all over the livingroom, then stopped to cough. Otherwise he is fine. Should I get vet to check him over?
(Sorry haven't posted for ages, will do on Friday, his 1st gotcha day!)
Thanks Alice

Definatly get him checked out a cough can be the first sign of many things especially after excercise. Give him a big squidge from us and let us know what the vets have had to say.

Aaawww Tolly, I hope your cough is nothing to worry about sweetheart. Fingers crossed that the vet can sort you out quickly, and that you are all well again to celebrate your 'GOTCHA DAY' in style. Hope it's quickly sorted, and nothing major Alice. Jackie x

Just back from vets - apparently it is tracheitis, and the vet said it was good I had brought him in early as it will be easier to treat. Tolly had an AB injection - he did not like that, cried loudly (not a sound I have ever heard him make before!) and looked very shocked!! And now I have to give him AB tablets for a few days. He got lots of general admiration at the vets so that should make up for the injection! The vet said his heart is absolutely fine (because of course I had googled 'coughs in dogs' and got myself worried). Alice

Don't know anything about Tracheitis, but glad you have a diagnosis and hopefully Tolly is well on the road to recovery Mx
