We've had Paco for nearly two months now and due to our good care and perseverance with the sardines (we have learnt to deal with the smelly farts!) his coat is lovely and black and shiny. However, we have found that he has flaky skin on his back legs and on his back near to his tail.
Any advice on how to deal with this?

Hi, we've had Gracie for 6 months and she was awful initially, lots of dandruff and dull fur but she improved from the top of her back downwards and by about 4 months she suddenly seemed to 'match' all over. If her fur is shiny then you're getting there, I think its just a case of a bit more time. The back end seems to take the longest to get right. I don't know if rubbing bio-oil would help, we've been using it on some horrible large tight scars she has (even the vet was shocked by them) and they are much softer and have turned a healthy pink and seem to have more give to them. It's not oily despite the name and smells nice. Vicky

Agree with Vicky, give it a bit of time. Only if Paco seemed distressed or there was a change in his behaviour would I change. My Peggy took a long time to shine up . She was all black so the flaky skin really showed , but she is fine now apart from the copious amounts of grey But hey I'm only blond with a lot of help Mx
