Seamus is still licking various parts of his body ( but not to the point of licking fur off!) I am wondering if its his food. When we first had him we bought Lidls dry dog food which seem to suit him and I decided to change it ( stupid me) Hes on Wagg now and hes lost weight ( which I thought was because hes settled down) and now this licking!!Hes had one and half bags of this now (15kg ones). Do you think it may not suit him?? and if so what other make can I try which isnt too expensive? ( God Im a bad mum!!) Annette

My Rottie x Mastiff had bad skin and we fed him on Pero, wheat free chicken and rice and it really suited him. He was on Wagg previously. iIt wasn't too expensive about £17 for 15k, but obviously it's not as cheap as Wagg, but doesn't have any colourings in it. It's worth changing his food if it has coincided with his itchy skin as it does seem like an unlikely coincidence.

Monty gets itchy licky too, if he eats anything with wheat in it. He's on Burgess Supadog Sensitive (lamb/rice) now and seems to be much better (and starting to put on some much-needed weight). Think we pay about £18 for a 15kg bag at the local feed store.

I know it's controversial, but if he has itchy skin problems and condition problems that are ongoing, I would try raw feeding. Lots of info about it on the net if you wish to research.
He may also have an allergy to some ingredient - wheat is a common one. If you don't want to try raw (which need not be expensive if you can get a good source) I would try gluten free food that excludes common ingredients which some dogs don't tolerate well, e.g. dairy, wheat.

The pero is wheat and gluten free ;D
