Hello, Could anyone please advise me of what type of food is best to feed our Greyhound. We have been advised by our local pet shop to feed her Berrimans, which is a holistic feed with all natural ingredients, but it seems to upset her stomach. Shes been on Berrimans for 4 weeks with no stomach improvements. Any ideas?

Firstly, welcome to the forum ..... you will get a variety of suggestions here, but I personally feed James Wellbeloved (twice daily) - it's expensive, but my dogs love it. I've had no upset tummies or other problems at all and they have been eating it happily for 3 years

I've had no upset tummies or other problems at all and they have been eating it happily for 3 years Us too - James Wellbeloved Turkey and Rice Kibble, twice a day (soaked in water as they are scoffers ), 12 hours apart. It is expensive, but if you buy in bulk on the internet you can normally save 25 to 30%, no problem. They also have sardines three or four times a week, sometimes a haggis (which lasts them a few days) and table scraps (steamed veg / cooked meat only). Barney had a terrible tummy when he first came to us (constant runs and evil wind!). We experimented with all sorts for that - yoghurt, oats, every food on the market . . . but we've found that James Wellbeloved suits them both beautifully, and more to the point, they really love it! ;D ;D ;D Good luck and

After trying a couple of dry foods I found WAGG suits my greyhound (no artificial colours or flavourings etc). He has tripe mix with it and sometimes he also has table scraps of cooked meat and veg, also rice or pasta. He has sardines twice a week as well. ;D He has probiotic yoghurt once a day too for the notorious wind Annette

One of my dogs had endless tummy problems and lost weight - I tried special diets to no effect. Then I discovered she had a rotten tooth (hadn't thought of that because she had a dental not long ago). Once she had the tooth out (she only has 5 left!) she was fine and now eats the same as the other dogs - Hills Science Diet (dry but with water added) with a bit of tinned food, brown bread, pasta or rice and a little soya milk - fed twice a day. Just a thought...

I tried all sorts of dried food for my greyhound ellie, including the premium brands and she refused them all, then i tried wagg chicken & vegetable, no artificial colours, flavourings and best of all no animal deriritives. Ellie loves it and usually eats all of it, she has it with cooked chicken thighs that i buy raw & cook at home,i just boil them in a pan, i usually moisten the wagg complete with a little of the meat juices, i also give her offal a couple of times a week, again mixed with the wagg. I stopped buying tinned dog food a while back due to the ammount of animal deriritives it contains. Ellie is healthy & happy and also enjoys table scraps, and she will do anything for a yghurt!! hope this helps

we buy/feed Arden Grange, another good brand as James Webeloved and Burns. you can actually recognise all the ingredients on the list!!!
we found that it was quite expensive (we have 2 mouths to feed) so we searched online and Berriewood wholesalers have the Lamb & Rice 15kg sacks for £23.79 )plus £3.40 delivery per order). girls will eat it dry but they do prefer to have left overs mixed in. no tummy troubles at all on this food.

We have been feeding Burns with great success i like it because it has no cr*p in it, one of our lurchers has always been a skinny minnie but we changed her to the working dog food and she looks fab now, after researching barf etc etc we've now started to introduce DUCK www.k9consultants.co.uk/duck_dog_food.htm which is so far going down pretty well.
