I need to buy a couple of new muzzles but I've never had to buy any before so am pretty clueless about them.
I'm thinking the plastic types wouldn't make people cross the road so quickly as a metal one, so would really prefer a plastic type.
Are the plastic ones all the same or are there different types ?
Does one size fit all ?
Can you recommend a place to buy ?
Any other advice appreciated
Thanks

Go to Jan's Gifts www.jansgifts.co.uk/list.php?type_id=113The page shows you how to measure for a muzzle and there are different types of muzzles you can buy from plastic to plastic covered wire muzzles. I prefer the latter because they aren't as bulky as the plastic ones.

A word of advice, I don't know if you are buying for a lurcher but their muzzle can be broader than a greys. I ordered a wire muzzle from Jans but it was too small ( the measurements aren't very generous IMHO and left no room for him to pant). It may be worth a phonecall before you order. Mayo started off with a Baskerville muzzle. Most pet shops stock these and are happy for you to bring your hound in for a fitting . I've since bought a wire muzzle from RGT, after a very nice lady relayed all the measurements over the phone for me. Moira x

The 2 of mine that have to be muzzled wear the Walking Out greyhound plastic muzzles from Jans Gifts and they are really good BUT one is a greyhound and one is a very greyhound like lurcher so they fit really well.

I like the ones with the cushioned nose. It stops any rubbing.

I have 2 sets of muzzles and use the plastic walking out muzzles from Jan's. Never had a problem but I have 3 greyhounds so they fit really well.
