Can anybody recommend any particular toys that greyhounds like? Ours likes shoes, but hasn't really taken to anything we've bought her.

It no doubt depends on the dog but Rosie's loves anything that squeaks but then sets about killing it left alone with a squeaky toy it will last for minutes at most She also likes cuddly toys but her attention span is generally limited. She will play ball - well in a manor of speaking - she will run after one and then hang on to it or systematically destroy it unless she's offered a better option Oh and the ball has to squeak, or at least it had to have squeaked at some point in it's life i.e. before Rosie got her teeth on it. Offer her a regular tennis ball and she'll turn her nose up but offer her the squeaky ones you can get in PAH and she loves them.

I haven't tried anything squeaky yet - will get her something and see what she thinks! Thanks.

It took Harris a long time to learn to play with anything but he loves teddies, all the better if they make a noise, Kongs and balls that bounce oddly - with feet on or wibbly wobblies etc- most of all he loves his people and little bro to play with though. Wilfy loves teddies, raggers, balls, treat balls/kongs and mostly shoes, his big bro and his Mum! As a pup Wilf's favourite toy of all was my old walking boots, he never damaged them but even at two loves to throw them around his head by their laces!

Ours loves shoes too. She chewed a few pairs when she first came home from kennels, but now just collects them and puts them in her bed.
She also likes to pick up my cuddly toys when she gets her paws on them, but is not allowed to, so I shall try some cuddly squeaky toys and see what she thinks.
Most of the dog toys I see don't seem robust enough for a big dog, which is why I haven't bought her much yet.

Giving Wilf my old boots almost totally stopped him stealing other shoes, he knew which he was allowed, if my mate's lad comes over with his slippers he likes to take them to bed with him (and gets away with it because he's never damaged them) but otherwise he'll admire other shoes and then go and get his own.

Paris and Phil adore their kongs, they keep them busy for ages. Phil has a history of shredding every single toy we gave, but his kong has withstood lots of lazy afternoons in the garden

Mine love squeaky toys but they kill them pretty quickley I think one of the favourite toys to through around has to be my slippers They never destroy them but find it great fun chucking them round the room. Teddy bears from a charity shop are also a popular and cheap toy. Sue

If you really want to drive her mad, get a screaming monkey!
