we are still struggling to keep beau off his castration wound. he has a larger buster collar and is thoroughly miserable but he is so bendy and long bodied he can still reach it and is making a mess of it. we have tried leggings but they are too easy for him to get off- we are currently on very small pants but if they are too big he gets his nose under and too small and they are cutting into him. a muzzle is no good as he damages himself even more with it on. at the moment he is wearing boxer shorts with his tail out of the button hole but i know that tonight while we sleep he will get them off. any ideas? it seems a shame to put him in a small crate when the weather is hot like this but thats the only other thing i can think of doing to stop him bending round and reaching it. even then i cant be sure. hes pretty miserable but i wouldnt say distressed so im not looking at sedation or anything at this point but the next problem is going to be infection- it already doesnt look as healthy as it should- but i think that its just soreness at the moment. we can take him back to the vets tomorrow but i have no idea what they might suggest?

What about trying 'No Lick' . I can't remember the proper name for this but I've had it from the vet before now as 'No Lick'. It apparently tastes foul and the dog doesn't like it so it deters them from licking or chewing at wounds. You apply it around rather than directly on to the wound.
