Gracie is fine but despite trying various foods inc excluding wheat she is always a bit sloppier than I'd like, but not vets awful. I've seen on here advice about using arrowroot and have got some, but just how and how much should I add? Thanks

I don't know about arrowroot, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread too, but have you tried raw porridge oats? Barney's poos were never as formed as would be ideal (you know, like fresh cookie dough - - sorry!), so we've started giving him a generous handful of raw, unsalted porridge oats every morning, mixed-in with a couple of dollops of live yoghurt. He loves it, and it's firmed things up beautifully, if you get my drift. His breakfast regime has killed two birds with one stone, as the live yoghurt helps greatly with his flatulence problem (he could clear the street, let alone a room! ). Good luck!

Thanks for that, will give it a go. She has bio yogurt so will add them in. Had thought about trying them cooked but not raw. Will let you know.

What do you feed Gracie? How many treats/other things does she have?

Hi, She has cooked chicken, fish or lamb with rice and veg in 3 small meals a day, bio yogurt in the morning which seems to be helping with wind and doesn't make it worse. Dried food or mixer makes her poo massive amounts, terrible wind and much looser, makes me wonder if she has wheat intolerence. Had been fed on cheap dried in rescue once a day so came to us with awful wind and diarrhoa. Poo's not awful but is hard to pick up. It seems to be suiting her ok as her coat has gone from grey and moth eaten looking to black and shiny and she has put on some much needed weight. She also has a pigs ear, hide chew or antos veggie chew most days and her favourite custard cream occasionally but no table scraps etc. She also has vet vits and oils and glucosamine but have tried leaving these out but no change. The first one of the day is not so bad, but gets worse later on.

I can catogorically state that Scarlett and Rodney who are everything intolerant are on fish4dogs complete food and Rodney firmed up straight away Scarlett is now solid for the first time in her life after being on it for a while.

Thanks Lisa, finally got some fish4dogs, - not easy to find other than on-line. Been gradually reducing normal food and adding it in last 2 days and she seems to be firming up nicely. A little bit more windy so will increase it slowly. She likes it too, so hopefully thats another problem sorted thanks to you (anywhere cheaper that you know other than their own web site? )
