Hi, Ive got to take Cerys to the vets tomorrow morning as today whilst she was out in the field she became lame on her back right leg. I have noticed before that she does a little "skip" on it sometimes as if something is slightly bothering her/it, but today she was picking it up quite alot whilst we were walking home, im soooo worried that something is really wrong! Ive only taken her on a tiny walk tonight as sometimes she is putting it down and I dont want her to make it worse. The other thing is that ive noticed that her nails are very brittle - they seem to be almost breaking off and then leaving a very sharp/pointed nail over the root bit (not sure what its called)! I know this might sound odd but I dont know how else to explain it, I know im going to see the Vet man tomorrow but does anyone know anyhting about this kind of thing, please help me as Im worrying myself stupid? Alex x

The leg thing might be that she is getting a lot of off leash now compared to the fact she wasnt get any at all for a long time. Maybe restrict the excercise slightly. I would definatly get the nails checked out though.

Ok Lisa, thanks alot for the advise, much appreciated, see you Sat - Alex xx Hi Alex, my dog has managed to tear a muscle in his front shoulder which is making him limp. We visited the vet and had a course of anti-inflammatories and he is on short walks at the moment. We left him off lead only because he is a cautious boy who likes to stay near. Even though the vet thinks it is minor, it does seem as if it will be a fair few weeks before he stops limping and we can start back on the recall training (and running). Good luck with the vets tomorrow! Sou
