Looked at Jack this lunchtime and he's developed a bump the size of a pea on the side of his face. I don't recall seeing it this morning. I shall be off to the vets to check him out, he doesn't seem to be in any discomfort but with it coming up so fast I'm a bit worried it'll get worse over the weekend. any experienced similar? Not sure if I expect it to be tooth ralated, his teeth are not perfect due to neglect in his past homes and crappy diet, his gums are quite receded in places, poor love.

Hi, have had this happen with 2 dogs, both times very alarming how rapidly it came up, very big and hard, just under their eyes. In fact one was so big it made her eye almond shaped rather than round. One turned out to be infected salivary gland, treated with antibiotics, cleared up fine in a week. Trixies was an abcess under back 2 teeth at top , had them out and it went down overnight no problem (found one tooth had a big crack in it). Both dogs continued to eat as normal, chomped chews as if there was nothing wrong. Both lumps looked as if you'd put a big cherry under the skin. Hope its ok -* Vicky

What did the vet say Becky ? When ronnie aka merlin arrived in my care his teeth were so bad an absess burst through his cheek, a strong coarse of ab's and multipal teeth out later ans he was a happy camper. I really don't get why this lad hasn't got a home yet, he's such a stunner i bet your half way to keeping him by now. nicky ;D
