Well Mimi has been crying for a bit when she's been lying down, i thought i was her joints and had her on cortaflex but it didnt help. We took her to the vets yesterday and he said it was an old racing injury, that she had torn her TFL muscle quite badly while racing and it would probably niggle her throughout her life and she would probably need Cortazone injections every 6 months or so. I've got no problems with doing this but i wondered if anyone else had had this with their ex racer and maybe if there was a rub or vitamin i could give her to help.

Im not sure with old Tlf injuries and have only treated new ones. With new ones you tend to rest for four weeks (cage) and no leash walks only toiletting to empty and depending on the injury massage twice a day. I would imagine with an old injury that massage wont hurt and its usually the scar tissue that has built up around it that keeps it tight and hurting. There use to be a rub called Curaco that helped BUT im sure they stopped making it. If you can find trainers choice rub or alco ectolin these may help BUT speak to your vet first to make sure its not an injury a warm rub and massage will make worse. You can get them here and Bone Radiol is meant to be good too. www.greyhoundmegastore.com/page95.html
