So we're back from the vet... There seems to be no sign of laringeal paralysis and the antibiotics seemed to work well the first week but then his cough came back and seems to be at the same level as it was to start with. Bandit had an x-ray done and the vet thinks his heart is slightly enlarged (even taking into account the fact that ex-racers often have enlarged hearts anyway) and he thinks Bandit's lungs may be slightly congested too. He is unwilling to commit until he gets the results of the blood tests he's ordered (they've been sent off and should be back by the end of the week). Speaking as a layman so apologies if anything is misspelt but there are three blood tests being done. Checking Bandit's proBNP; looking for changes in his red blood cells; looking at the function of his liver and kidney. He doesn't want to commit to taking Bandit's bad teeth out until he can assess if Bandit's symptoms are helped by medication or heart failure is ruled out. Bandit is fine in himself and does not seem lethargic or listless at all (and is greedy as anything ). I rushed to pick him up from the vets after his x-ray thinking he'd be upset - only to find him mugging the nurse for face tickles - he's a cuddle monster ;D Sou
