just like to ask if anyone has any advice or suggestions on how to de sensitize a dog about anything on wheels. including buggys(not to bad with these as we have been walking him by my daughters pram and he only gets over exited now),bikes(the worse)skateboards basically anything with wheels. he use to be the same with arm movements, dancing, running but is doing really well with these now and only occasionly mouths but he cant get past getting worked up with bikes and skateboards which puts us in a bit of a perdictament as we do both alot and means the kids cant take there bikes or anything out on walks. sorry to waffle on a bit but any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Viki I take it it's Sonny or Oskar your talking about. We had the same probelm with Ed from a pup and trained him to carry a ball to focus his attenion. Worth a try the hard bit id getting them to give it you back.

I had a friend with a collie with this 'issue' It's a long slow process, but essentially you could start with walking a bike on each of your walks(some-one else pushing it along while you walk - just you between him and the bike). Once he begins to ignore it, then start to ride it, again you between him and the bike - at the same (walking) pace... as I say, long slow process - and as with most training, if he reacts to the ridden bike, go back to the pushing it along. (hope all that makes sense?!)
Once you have mastered the bike (see how positive I am that you will ) then you could start the whole process with the skateboard (carry it, roll it, ride it)
Good Luck Gillian x
