Kaye posted this on Lurcherlink last night. Unfortunatey the lurcher is an ex worker and pretty keen, so I cannot take her with my 5 cats!! Can anyone please help her. "Can anyone offer a temporary foster home for a 3 year old Lurcher bitch who's had a broken leg (pinned) and whelped 7 weeks ago.....I'd guess the pups have been sold now, which is why she's surplus to requirements I've been told she's NOT cat friendly as she's an ex-working dog (but have been through that before and ended up rehoming them with cats....needs patience though ) but gets on well with other dogs, people and kids. She's in a pts situation though as her owner doesn't want her around any more and has given us 2 weeks to find somewhere for her. If needs be, I'll have her up here, but need to organise transport....so we will still need a foster home......HELP!!!" She is Blandford way.

Wendy
Have you tried Bath Cats and Dogs. Jackie is a star and has taken three lurchers from me in the past when they were in a pts situation.

Sorry, my pc died yesterday....... I've had a couple of offers of transport too...and I *think* a home without cats *might* be safer to start off with, till we can assess her. Can you let me know for definite if you're having these other 2 dogs SkyBabe? Otherwise it could be Tanya and a muzzle!

It seems I am expecting a foster dog here some time after Friday, but if you can't find someone to take Tanya I will have here here rather than the worst happen! There's always room for one more I have a small house (call it 'cosy') but the garden is quite big. There's a veg patch at the bottom which my dogs are kindly 'rotavating' for me, so send all your diggie dogs this way

Yep....happy ending A nice family helped transport her to the GRWE kennels in Gloucestershire today so she's safe now. The fella who took her there said she was gorgeous and he was glad he didn't have to do this every day coz he'd be a snivelling wreck All she needs now is someone to adopt her, but it doesn't sound like that'll take much doing
