This is Daisy. She's a 4 & 1/2 month old Whippet/Terrier/Greyhound puppy who has had a very bad start in life She's blind in one eye and has to have it removed asap as it's causing her problems due to the build up of pressure on her brain - she's having mild seizures and seems to be in pain. The National Animal Welfare Trust at Watford has generously agreed to take Daisy in and perform the op on her eye....but Lurcher Link have promised to send a donation to them towards it............only seems right If anyone would like to contribute towards Daisy's op fund, pm me and I'll either give you the Lurcher Link bank details or you can send me a cheque, and I will send one to NAWT in a few days time.....or you can use the Paypal button on the Lurcher Search website (http://www.lurcher.org/lsuk) which I can borrow for this purpose Thanks a lot, Daisy and the Lurcher Link folks

UPDATE on Daisy: Daisy has now had the op, apparently the eye had deteriorated in the socket and it was a damn good job she had it out when she did, or she might not have been with us much longer Daisy is now bouncing around as though nothing has happened and eaten all her lunch......typical Lurcher huh? She will spend the next month recovering from the op and if all goes well, she should be up for re-homing after that. The NAWT deserve a big pat on the back for taking Daisy in when they did and I'll be pleased to send them our donations towards Daisy's op. Thank you all once again.

I've had a letter from the NAWT this morning, which says: " Dear Kaye, Re: Daisy (now Slippers) On behalf of the National Animal Welfare Trust, I would like to say a big thank you to you and everyone who has donated money towards Slipper's appeal. Since her eye operation she has been a very happy dog, feeling, I am sure, much better without the discomfort. She is a lovely, friendly dog who has made many friends with the staff at the centre, always ready to play. Her stitches will be removed this week and then she will be up for homing. Needless to say we will be failry "fussy" on whom we allow to adopt her! Once again thank you for your support and interest in our work which is very much appreciated. Your receipt is enclosed. Yours sincerely, Amanda Algar Kennel Supervisor." So.........as she says, a big THANK YOU to all you guys Mods, you might want to lock this thread now?
