Rhian is probably here on the lost and found somewhere but I can't immediately find where, and thought I had better start a new thread as it was so long ago. Some people may know that I came into Lost & Found work as a result of looking for my friend's stolen lurcher, which was stolen from his car in Abergavenny, in July 2003. We have heard nothing for months, and then today my friend got a call from a vet in Swansea which had Rhian's details. A client had reported trying to catch a lurcher resembling Rhian, very scrawny looking and appearing to be a stray, but failed to do so. This lurcher was caught by another woman who had likewise stopped to catch her, but there was no conversation between the two (possible busy road in between) and this other woman put the dog on a lead and took her away. This was on Llwca (sp?) Bridge, Swansea. My friend Bruce is busy contacting local wardens, police, sanctuaries etc. If anyone is in that area or has contacts there, please watch out for a pale golden brindle bitch 24" at shoulder with some white to toes and golden hazel eyes. Photo and full description at www.doglost.co.uk/forum.asp?ID=679Even if this one isn't Rhian, we would like to know where she is as she may be one of the other brindle bitches on our Missing list.

The lady who caught this lurcher has now contacted Doglost after seeing a poster, and she and Bruce have been talking on the phone. She did in fact hand the lurcher in to the police - this was on Sept 8 - and Bruce is pretty cross that when he rang them at the beginning of the month they said no such dog had been handed in. They have now come up with a reference number for the found dog, and according to their records she was passed on to the dogwarden. We have to wait until tomorrow to get hold of the warden and find out where she was taken.
Bruce is not pinning too many hopes on this dog as he has followed so many false trails, but it does look hopeful as the markings are right and so is the strikingly unusual eye colour.
Paws crossed that we can find this dog and that she turns out to be our girl.

We now know all about the found dog. She wasn't Rhian but identical except for a darkish mask. She has been reunited with her people, thanks to her chip.
