Update on Dora: there have been a number of sightings including two by owner this morning She is staying around one particular area and local residents have been helpful. Owner is virtually camped out there. It's just a question of collaring her. Softly, softly ...

Dora has unhelpfully changed area. After running around behind the Civic Centre she went to Apsley, where she was seen running down the high street at midday Thursday.

Sighting in Apsley on evening of Aug 16. When owner arrived, he was able to see and follow Dora but couldn't get near her as she was on a roundabout. He eventually lost her. He believes that she is coming into town in the evenings looking for food. She has been seen round the back of Currys in Apsley.

Can he borrow a cage trap off the dog wardens and leave it there?

He did try to go down that route when she was in the park but was told he can only put one on private land, not in a public place.

Owner saw her again on the 19th. She is starting to look thin. She pricks up her ears when her name is called, but then takes off again

Dora has now left Apsley and has been seen in Berkhamsted area. She is apparently making her way along the Grand Union Canal towpath heading for Tring.

Update on Dora:
There were a number of sightings of Dora as she made her way along farmland tear the canal towpath. Food was being left out for her and she was taking it until all sightings stopped around the first week in September, at which time the food was no longer being taken. Ian, her owner, has covered many miles looking for her and now there have been a couple of phone calls saying that Dora had been seen in N Watford area, being walked on lead by a woman.
Can anyone who lives or has contacts in this area keep an eye open, please? It may of course be a different but similar Ibizan, but it wouldn't be the first time a dog on the run getting into poor condition has been taken in by a wellmeaning person who doesn't realise that a distressed owner is looking everywhere. In fact, it happens regularly!

Phebe, has anyone been in touch with the NAWT at Watford? Either to see if anyone can help or has any ideas - I presume they are aware of her in case she turns up there? www.nawt.org.uk/homecounties.htmldetails at the bottom of the screen - email address is watford@nawt.org.uk, can't see a tel no.

Latest news - the Watford dog wasn't Dora but 3 people claim to have seen her at Chipperfield, a village south of Hemel Hempstead.
