Mazey has been seen in the Solihull area so if there's anyone in that area could they please be on the look out.

Mazey has been on the run for 4 months now, and during November and December she was seen by a number of people. In spite of a massive amount of publicity and leafletting there were no sightings over the past few weeks, then today a dog believed to be Mazey turned up on Balsall Common which is close to areas where she has been seen before. The Coventry and Solihull dog wardens are attempting to trap her. Jazzi has been working very hard to help Mazey and her mum Sharon and will know more about current developments than I do.

I can't believe she hasn't let herself be caught yet. Her mum must be so distraught.

Mazey has survived because she is a bin-raider par excellence and a very clever girl. She has been seen resting in sheltered back gardens, trotting down streets at quiet times and generally keeping out of the way. She seems to have been circulating around the same areas but never in one place for too long, and has adapted to her situation and developed a lifestyle which seems to work, though a recent witness described her as looking a bit scruffy which is hardly surprising. I feel so sorry for Sharon and hope we can finally catch up with this little wanderer. If we can get Sharon anywhere near Mazey it might be a start. So far it has not been possible, and it is all complicated by the fact that Sharon lives in Telford.

Just had a phone chat with Jazzi. It seems that Mazey is now looking thin and scrawny but the positive side is that she is becoming very bold at bin-raiding and has frequently been seen scavenging during the past few days, always in the same area, so is more likely to risk going into a trap. I suggested the use of a scent cloth or old garment belonging to her mum as well as a food bait, so hopefully this will be tried. Will keep you posted.
