The owner is a way on holiday, and the dog has escaped/has been stolen from a boarding kennels at Gurney Slade, Nr Shepton Mallet. There have been several sightings today of the dog on the A371 between Shepton Mallet and Wells, on the Dulcote bypass. I am pleased to be able to tell you that Alfie has been located today………….. Having been on the loose for 5 days, he has been found safe and well. In that time he has been sighted numerous times and has covered a massive amount of miles. LOTS of people have been looking for him, all over the Mendips. However, having circumnavigated Wells several times, today Alfie found his way home, and ended up sitting on his own doorstep waiting to be let in!! He is now safely back in the kennels, and awaits his owners return from holiday at the weekend. Never let it be said that Lurchers don’t have a brain ~ Alfred will be signing up for the local orienteering club first thing on Monday! Thanks to everyone who has been looking for him.
