Hello! I've just joined after following GG on FB. Wondered if you guys could weigh in with some advice and share your experiences of what has worked integrating rescue greys with cats?
My partner and I are moving in together this week to a new home, with her cat (fairly good sized, male). I have 3 rescue female greys / lurchers (none of them ex-racers) which I share part time with my ex partner who lives very nearby so dog care is really great. They have no recent experience of cats and we don't know if they had any before they came to us, but in the past have shown a natural chase instinct.
My thought is to move house with the cat, keep him in for a a week or two so he knows it's home, but introduce my eldest (steadiest) lurcher *a couple of days in, overnight*, whilst the cat is still being kept in so he knows this is home, and this is how it is, and he can't run away and never be seen again / choose a new home, which is my partner's big fear.
Then gradually introduce the other 2 greys one by one.
Thoughts, advice & experiences, please, or if anyone can signpost me I'd appreciate it.
