In view of how difficult it is to do street collections in London I thought I'd look at mainline stations - very much easier as they are private property. For instance Network Rail own the following stations: Birmingham New Street Cannon Street Charing Cross Edinburgh Waverley Euston Fenchurch Street Gatwick Airport Glasgow Central King's Cross Leeds Liverpool Lime Street Liverpool Street London Bridge Manchester Piccadilly Paddington St Pancras International Victoria Waterloo Their collection policy can be found here: www.networkrail.co.uk/documents/Community%20and%20Environment/6079_charity%20collections%20policy_managed%20stations.pdfIt doesn't say anything about whether animals are allowed or not - but I expect not - can only ask - each station may be different. The application form can be found at www.networkrail.co.uk/documents/Community%20and%20Environment/6046_application%20form_charity%20collection.docThere seems to be a limit of 4 collectors but you can however ask to be allowed more. It may be worthwhile trying to target stations during the rush hour, probably the one that means people are going home rather than in a rush to get to work and will hopefully be in a better mood! ;D I am going to look into doing a collection at Waterloo Mainline Station and just wondered if anyone would be interested in doing this with me? I haven't got any dates yet, just wanted to see if there was any interest first.

Waterloo would be an easy one for me to help with Nettie - it's my main line into London ;D

Thanks Kay, I was thinking railway stations would be good places for Autumn/Winter collections, indoors, relatively warm, plenty of coffee/food outlets and loads of people coming and going - could be good pickings, particularly at the larger stations or just aim for the homeward bound rush hour at smaller stations.

I could get to Victoria, St Pancreas International and Charing Cross fairly easily if anyone would fancy/be able to join me?

Victoria is another easy one for me.
If anyone else fancies doing the other stations mentioned if possible we could request several for the same day - a kind of scatter gun approach.

I'm in and out of Marylebone everyday. They often have police dogs there.

Can't see a problem with dogs in stations as they're allowed to travel on trains, so therefore they have to be in the station

I'm close to New Street, I'll look into arranging one there. I've taken a dog into New Street before without issue - its the shopping centre upstairs that marched us out!

Nettie any more thoughts on organising a station collection in London? I have a few days annual leave left to take before end of March so would be happy to take a day off work to do one mid-week if anything can be organised before then, particularly as there aren't that many fundraisers going on now until the show season starts up around Easter.... My main issue is that if I was to bring the dogs Dickie is a bit of a disaster with negotiating floors and stairs so would probably need to drive in and not park in a multistory ;D Failing that maybe a big supermarket collection? I was thinking about this the other day. I'll pull up the form and talk to you re: dates. I'm not sure what to do about Dickie's aversion to certain floors and parking is such a bitch and costs a small fortune around both Victoria and Waterloo stations

I could support you in that so long as there's adequate notice to organise time off. Can't say Noel would like it on his own amongst all that hustle and bustle but if there were a few dogs with him I'm sure he would relax after the first oooo three hours!!!!!! ;D Sarah P.S. Obviously I meant on his own dog wise, didn't mean I'd hand you his lead and leave him alone with you whilst I headed over to the bullring, do a spot of shopping and pick him up later! ;D

Depending on dates I could probably do Waterloo with Sylvie and/or Bilbo, they are both quite chilled and sylvie is ok on shiny floors.
