On driving home this afternoon about 3pm, we passed a dog running across the main road and off up a side road. We turned around & went back. It didn't have the look of a dog that knew where it was going and stopped to look at us but barked and ran away when I tried to approach it. This was on the A489 between Machynlleth and Cemmaes Road and it veered off along the road to the village of Abercegir, then up a farm track & disappeared. It might have been a wandering farm dog, but it is quite unusual to find one on the main road like this.
Description: Black, maybe a tiny bit of white on its chest. Looked like a tall, long legged collie or collie x lurcher type. Tall enough that at a distance it looked like a doberman at first. It had a short to medium length collie / retriever style coat. It had a brown leather collar on and might have been limping slightly. Looked shiny, healthy & well kept otherwise.
Will probably dissapear back into the hills but thought I might put it on here just in case someone is looking for it.
