I officially stop smoking on Saturday 18th July. I am really amazed that everyone I have asked so far has been pleased to sponsor me ;D Even more heartwarming is that people are giving money up front, even though I have not even started yet Although I don't want to contemplate failing this means that once it is in the Gap pot if I let these folk down I will repay them from my own pocket, so no loss to Gap. I have not done anything sponsored since I was at school and asking people for money as an adult feels a lot harder but the response I have had so far has humbled and encouraged me in equal measure. Today I will be adding £18 and I have been pledged a further £12 Tomorrow I have lots more people to ask So, I hope that this will motivate others to just ask people for money, whether it just be £1 as per the mission of this campaign, or for more, as part of a specific fundraising idea ;D

Well done Sam, I know how hard it is. (I kept a huge stock of grapes in to nibble, but still put a stack of weight on ) How lovely of that person to donate £100 to someone they don't know well

Tomorrow it will be two weeks since I last smoked Observations so far: I have been a bitch-from-hell to live and work with Everything I eat tastes really salty. I have become a chocoholic (having never had a sweet-tooth in my life ) Wine tastes odd but it's keeping me going I still want to smoke But, I haven't. And today I did my first carbon monoxide reading since stopping and it is down to 1 from 18 when I was still smoking, so its all good really ;D Got to add my money saved from smoking to the kennel fund and chase sponsors now. That's the good bit

Tomorrow it will be two weeks since I last smoked I still want to smoke But, I haven't. Well done Sam, what an achievement. You will still feel the urge to have a cigarette, but if you keep telling yourself that if you light up now you will have wasted all of those days when you didn't, I am sure you will persevere. It does get easier I promise, and those moments when you crave a cigarette do get fewer and fewer. Keep up the good work, and think of all that money you're saving, not to mention the improvement in your health. Jackie x

Sam, you're doing brilliantly. I can't imagine how hard it must be, but keep it up bud - it's not for us, it's for the poopies! ;D Sending lots of 'keep resolute' thoughts. Jo x
