*takes a deep breath*
Hi. I'm new here, and I need help.
About six weeks ago a woman turned up on my doorstep with two greyhounds, asking that as I already had one would I like another? (She'd actually seen my idiot saluki x, Axl, sitting on top of the ferret runs watching the world go by.)
I said no but then made the fatal mistake of asking why.
Usual story. These two had been given to this person by the trainer, she was moving in to accomodation where she couldn't take the dogs and the trainer had offered to take them back - to kill them. The dog was no good to him and the bitch wouldn't be coming back into season soon enough.
As he was clearly not at all small furry safe (he tried to attack a stone cat in my garden) the dog, Hooch, spent a few days at work (I'm a vet nurse) and then went on to White Lodge.
The bitch stayed with me - I thought we had a good chance of her being cat friendly after a while.
I thought wrong. We've had a couple of nasty mishaps and before too much longer there's going to be a really bad accident. Things are under control at the mo but she's getting stressed now (she's spending way too much time in her crate, and when she's out of it she has to wear a box muzzle), wetting her bed at night and howling.
Pepsi is six, black with white speckles, spayed, vaccinated, and dental-ed, great with kids - even noisy ones that hang around her neck - and fine with the ferrets. (In the garden, because they sit behind their wire and ignore her.)
When we are out of the house she's fine. When we are in the living room, she's fine. But I have to sleep on the sofa most nights or the poor girl winds up in a puddle of pee.
I need to find somewhere for her - fast. She's getting more miserable by the day, and I can't go on like this.
I'm desperate.
If you can help, I can be reached on

Thanks...
