Blonde Male Lurcher found in Chorley Lancashire
Harvey was found Sunday 24th April roaming around Higher Wheelton, Chorley, Lancashire.
We named him Harvey as there was a large Harvest Moon that night, and the colours resembled him.
He is very loving, friendly and good natured. Also house trained, walks without pulling on a lead and travels well in a car.
We think he is around 3 years old and is very thin and has lots or scratches and soars which are healing well.
Unfortunately we already have a dog, cat and guinea pig that live in our small house. We are finding it very difficult to keep Harvey as we both work full time, and don’t feel that we can give him all the love and attention he deserves.
We understand that you are charity and have limited funds so if you call us, we will call you back to help.
Regards
Lisa

Welcome to Greyhound Gap! In the first instance, we will do our best to find out if anyone has lost him or had him stolen from them! Stolen lurchers end up all over the place. Mail a pic and details to kaye@ lurcher.org and admin@doglost for starters. What steps have you taken so far so find his owner? Notifying the police isn't always much help as some stations are notoriously bad at matching up the lost and found. Have you made sure the dogwarden knows, checked with the local vets, and had him scanned for microchip? Apologies if you have done all that stuff, it's just that people who find dogs often assume the police will do it - and they rarely do. I see we have a cream lurcher male missing in Coventry, described as tall and skinny, which I posted in this board recently. Is Harvey neutered, what kind of coat does he have, and about how big is he? Any distinguishing marks? Regards, Phebe

It would help if you could provide more information how is Harvey with the cats, the other dogs, kids and when left? Anything else you can add about Harvey living as part of your family.

i dont think it would be a good idea for Harvey to live with a cat, rabbit or anything else that is little and runs. My cat keeps taunting him and he is getting increasingly interested. ive kept them separated for saftey. He is good with people and children. He is house trainned and has not chewed anything when left. He loves other lurchers and dogs. and has got on very well with my dog sophie. He is excellent travelling in a car, ive even let him off the lead and he has come back to me when called. I would love to find him a good home soon as i think he is becoming attached to us. We have discussed keeping him but each day becomes more stressful.
