Gemma is an 8 year old German Shepherd x Collie (smaller sized), long haired, spayed and microchipped. Her vaccinations are now due. She is okay with other dogs and children but does not like cats.
In good health and with a good temperament she is energetic, very affectionate... but barks when excited and gets spooked by strange noises!
Gemma and her worldly goods need to be moved from Sheffield to Pontypool, Torfaen as soon as possible.
The route is A629, M1, A42, M42, M5, M50, A449, A40, A472 and should take approximately 3 hrs 33 mins
Once handed over to the first transporter Gemma will be legally owned by Oldies Club. We have full liability insurance. However we ask all transport volunteers to contact their motor insurance companies and advise that they are driving on a voluntary basis for dog rescues. There should be no charge for this. Everyone who takes part in this run will be sent our transporting guidelines. There should be no children or other dogs in vehicles. Gemma is to be transported in a secure manner so as to stop her escaping from the vehicle and care is to be taken that she can't slip her collar, lead etc. She must be transported securely in vehicle but not to the point of strangulation.
If you can help Gemma please post what area you can cover and on what day(s) you are available. Thankyou for your anticpiated support.

We now have an offer from Amy81 to cover the m5 section down to the m50 (and if necessary could possibly go a little way on the m42) Can anyone please link up with Amy & help Gemma to her foster home?
Natpants has unfortunately hurt her back today & may struggle for Monday - offers to cover that region may therefore be needed & welcomed
Get well soon Nat.

no worrys about monday Ian, i should be able to book some time off work next week to help out as they owe me some time. but it would be better if it is taking place in the week if we could do it on an afternoon. as this gives me chance to get the animals at work sorted before i leave.

Still no further progress so far.
If we could get some more help in time for Monday however it's possible that
Natpants & Amy could cover M42, M5, M50 area. Is there anyone who can help with all or part of the A629, M1, A42, M42 or M50, , A449, A40, A472 stretches please?
This could also possibly enable us to help Owl with the little rottie pup on the return leg - so please help these poor dogs if you can.
Options are open at this point so offers of help for other days are of course also still welcome
Thanks for your anticipated support

We have the following new offers
ClazUK says I can really only do the middle of the day on Monday but it's a fair way out of the way for me. If someone can cover the Nottingham/Loughborough/Ashby area then please step up.
If not, I can probably do J26 down to Ashby at a real push
Melp says I can go up the M1 and back down to 23a if someone can meet me there? [or nearest services to that] I'm a nervous driver and don't want to come off motorways if at all possible
Help from Sheffield to a meet up on the M1 someweher between Sheffield & Nottingham are therefore essential to pull this run together.
This currently gives us possible cover for M1 North of Nottingham down to Junction 23a. Offers of help from there towards Natpants on M42 welcomed.
We could then cover to M50 and still need help M50 to Pontypool - any offers to get Gemma to safety please?

Thanks Amy. You really are a star. I'd just emailed you before seeing this & if anything changes will get back to you again but in the meantime we really do appreciate your support.
