Hi all
What I am asking about does not have anything to do with a greyhound but it has to do with a Japanese akita.
The story is this......... a friend of mine has recently had to leave his girl friend as shes been suffering mental problems and he has had to move into a flat where they dont allow pets he’s very upset about having to leave his dog Simba a male Japanese akita he has to find him a home as his girl friend it not feeding him or giving him water and is suffering he has asked me to take him but my circumstances wont let me. The dog is currently in Basingstoke Hampshire and needs to be re homed as soon as possible as there no telling what my friends ex g/f state is in.
I’m sorry for asking about this here as you help greyhounds, but the only way I thought I might be able to help him and his dog was to ask on here.
hope someone can help or give him some advice.
all the best faeden

Hiya Faeden, not alot I can think to suggest other than he hands the dog over to a reputable rehoming organisation in that or surrounding areas. Do you think he would be happy to do that? The dog will be safer and better cared for this way, assessed etc and maybe even fostered before rehoming. Can you ask him for me and if he is willing to go down that route I can speak with some of the mixed breed rescues we liase with to see if anyone is willing to offer this dog a place. Would also help if you could find out the following:- How is he with other dogs How is he with cats How is he with kids Is he up to date with his vaccinations and is he castrated. If he is willing to go down this route then maybe we can find someone for the dog.
