"Tiva"
History
Tiva's mother "Jess" is a pure Doberman. Father, "Blue" is a larger-type blue whippet. Both parents are very friendly and sociable dogs. Tiva was one of a litter of 5 and my son Richard got her when she was 8 weeks old. Until very recently she has been living on a farm in the countryside in Perthshire with Richard and his former partner. Tiva has never been worked or encouraged to hunt or chase because there were cattle, sheep and lambs on the farm and she was kept as a pet.
Appearance
Tiva is 8 years old, is short smooth coated with black and white Border Collie type markings. She is long-legged with a slim build and a small head.
Temperament
She has had a lot of contact with other dogs and is not aggressive at all. She has a very placid and gentle nature.
She is very gentle and used to children and strangers.
She was brought up with a cat and has never shown any interest in other cats when she has gone visiting other houses. She is “cat friendly”.
She is used to cars and travels well.
She walks quietly on a lead but also likes to run in open spaces and she will come when called. She will stay at heel off the lead.
She is still willing to play with a throw toy at fetch and retrieve.
She is generally quiet and hardly barks.
She is normally quite happy to be left for a few hours indoors on her own.
Health
She had full vaccinations as a puppy but has not had regular boosters since.
She has never had any illnesses but has had cuts in her skin, which needed stitches.
She is not a big eater and has been used to dry food for greyhounds.
Reason for appeal for new home
Tiva's owner Richard recently split with his partner, which necessitated a move to Leeds.
Since moving to Leeds Richard has come to realise that it is not fair on the dog to keep her in his present circumstances.
He is out at work from early morning till late evening which is too long for Tiva to be without company. She has, in the last couple of weeks, started to show distress by chewing and urinating in the house.
The decision has reluctantly been made that Tiva must urgently be found a new home if she is not to keep suffering.
I would stress that she is still a very loved dog.
Thanks for your time in reading all of this.
