A lady in Dover rang this morning to say she needs one of her dogs rehoming as he's turning into a nightmare with sheep
He's a Saluki x castrated, vacc'd dog of 5.5 years.....fawn, smooth coated. he's fine with cats, housetrained and gets on fine with other dogs....just not sheep!
She found him in a skip 4 years ago, emaciated and very poorly with cig burns etc and has nursed him back to health....but if he stays put he's going to get shot
Can anyone offer a home, either permanent or temp. foster?

Is the dog in Dover? Why does it need help in Kent? Or is it in Kent? Or am I just being super dim.... I've just replied to your email, yes, he is welcome to come and stay here....but do cows look like sheep when seen at a distance

I think most dogs find cows rather more threatening that sheep.

Just to help you in your geography, Dover is in Kent. Feeling quite ashamed of myself ...I've often wondered how I got an 'A' in my geography 'O' level?? For some reason I was thinking of Devon?? Thanks for clearing that up for me Having a blonde moment there....

I take it keeping him on a lead near sheep, and the wearing of a muzzel, don't help?

That's what the owners having to do atm, but it's not good as a permanent thing when he's used to being able to run free

I suppose I forget how lucky we are living here. It is possible to let my greys off lead, unmuzzeled, and avoid children, cats, cows etc. Those poor rabbits though!

I spoke to the owner at length last night. If at all possible she wants to keep him with her until a permanent home is found that suits his needs. He sounds like a lovely pet...but...the sheep killing thing is worrying

....thats a crap excuse, you can avoid sheep.... You'd need to speak to the owner to understand, but after speaking to her at length i didn't think it sounded like a crap excuse at all. Any news on the lad??
