Phoenyx Animal Refuge is raising funds to help towards the cost of hydrotherapy treatment for this lovely little greyhound: Jonathan was found as a stray who has, sadly, had to have his leg amputated following a bad, and untreated, break. He is still under veterinary care but has been found a new home and hopefully he will be going to his new owners at the weekend. We are raisng funds to pay for hydrotherapy treatment for him to help him cope with his injury. Roy (my other half) has offered a prize of an original pet portrait to the competition winner. This will be a head study, in acrylics. Here's an example of one of the guinea pigs he's done for me: [not showing as well as it should due to web hosting!] So, here's the competition! 'Phoenyx Best Friends' We are looking for your photos that show your dog (or other pet!) as your best friend. This can be an action shot, a photo with you, a posed shot or anything that reminds you of why they are so special to you. Entries are £1 per photo, and if you don't want to post them on the thread, feel free to email them to me instead. You can submit as many entries as you like. Competition will close on 15th October and judging will be done by my friend Jane (my back-up on animal collections!). Cheques (payable to 'Phoenyx Cavies') can be sent to: Phoenyx Cavies Animal Refuge PO Box 148 Greenside Ryton NE40 4YN Please help us to help Jonathan, and thank you Lisa for letting me hold this on Greyhound Gap

Your welcome that is exactly what the competitions board is here for! On behalf of Johnathon Greyhound Gap will start the kitty off with £50 which is the money that White Lodge donated to us for dogs just like him (well at the time it was with him in mind anyway just in case)! Here is my contribution aswell photo wise will have a scout round for more but think this is going to be a hard one for me to find better than! Jack and Tzar! Showing just why a dog is a boys best friend! They really do adore each other!

Great idea for a comp and a fundraiser here is mine. I don't have many pictures of me and Molly together as I always seem to be the one behind the camera. Of the few I do have I like this one the best. We're together in our favourite place enjoying the thing we both love best. Out of all the dogs I've shared my life with Molly is my dog soulmate, which I knew as soon as I saw her when she was 3 days old. We're always in each others company and as much as I love my other dog Henry there is a corner of my heart that is just for Molly, and always will be. Best of luck to Jonathan in his recovery and his new home.
