Glad to hear Jake is now putting weight back on - greys aren't "normal" dogs, and if you've found a vet that knows them can you stay with them?We have a love/hate relationship with our vet(cos he's the local track vet) but he does know greys and how they differ. And now I think he sighs whenever we turn up,the nightmare grey owners who have "quirky" ideas. And that's just because, like a lot of people have said- know your hound. And cos of our background and a lot of other people on here know ,observation is invaluable.Like Kay said ,rangy greys and then stockier ones - all of ours(including our Saluki x)have been skinny.Guinness is just bigger boned - our Perry's foster-mum has his uncle, and though not much differcence in height,Joe looks a lot bigger - Cath

Just a quick update, its been a crazy month, where does the time go?
Jake is steadily putting weight on and is now a porky 31.5kg. It is surprising that it takes a few weeks to start taking affect and that incrimental increases in food do not have any real effect. It takes a larger increase to break the norm so to speak.
Anyway one happy dog, lovely coat developing and less stressed parents

My 4 Hounds, 3 ex-racing Greyhounds and 1 ex-Spanish Hunter's Wired Haired Ibizan Hound are all on 600grams a day 200grams for their breakfast and 400grams for their evening meal. I use Naturediet from Berriewood free delivery via DPD. They all look great except Kelly is a little bit porky for a female Greyhound, but she always has been, in fact she was the largest of her litter bigger than her two brothers and two sisters. They thought first of all she was another male pup, but on inspection realised she was just a very large female pup. With the fact that they are all well built means they are great with all sizes and types of dogs and humans, I get lots of great comments about my Greyhounds. My Spanish dog Menta is these days blind and diabetic.
