This is Ned, in need of a new sofa to stretch out on! Below is what his current owner, based in Wiltshire, says about him.
Ned is approximately 18 months old. He has some saluki in him, possibly greyhound, he is about 20kg. I am a veterinary nurse and he came in as a stray almost a year ago, shaved bald, covered in scabs, skinny and terrified. He is now fully furred, castrated, microchipped and vaccinated. He is a lovely boy, prefers women to men but is ok once he knows people. The only person he has remained scared of is my Dad, who has a strong Scottish accent... This seems to worry him.
He is a very easy boy, I have toilet trained him and now he very rarely has accidents unless he is left for a very long time. He gets on well with all dogs he meets, and lives with 2 terriers and a German shepherd at my house (the German shepherd is his best pal).
Previously he was able to come to work with me every day, but 4 months ago I changed jobs and he has to stay at home. This means he is left for a few hours, but he really craves human company. He doesn't ask for a lot of exercise but loves to run. He will chase though so needs a secure area to exercise in, or countryside away from roads. He also chases bikes.
All he wants are cuddles and I think he would benefit living with another dog as he copies mine quite a lot and This has helped to settle him. I never intended him to stay so long, but he slotted in so well I didn't really notice. However since starting the new job I am really struggling to give him what he needs. I was going to get him assessed as a pets as therapy dog because he is such a lovely nature, but with work I just don't have the time. I am happy to keep him with me until a home is found. I think he would be best with a part time worker. He is quite nervous so a fairly quiet household would be best. He has never shown any aggression. I don't know how he is with children as I have none and no visiting children. I would imagine he is fine, but probably better with older ones who are quieter.
If you feel you can offer Ned the home he needs, please fill in our Pre-Adoption Questionnaire here ...
